Model European Union first took place in the city of Strasbourg in the year 2007. The venue chosen for its coming into life was the headquarters of the European Parliament. It was there where the first simulation was held. Since then, simulations have been taking place every year and have given the opportunity to young European students to get to know the functioning of the EU institutions first hand. Thanks to
the promotion that BETA e.V has offered to local MEU's and due to the participation of some of our association members (BETA España) in MEU 2010, we firmly decided to take full advantage of this extraordinary opportunity and transfer this European awareness to our country. That is how MEU Granada 2012, the first of our editions, was born. We strongly believe that this project represent an open door for young people to see how the EU really works. It also allows them to come into a close contact with the concerns of the European citizens, as well as to gain a thorough knowledge about the EU institutions and their functioning.
Model European Union Granada 2013 will be 5 days in which almost 100 participants from all over the European Union will have the chance to exchange views and experiences in an inspiring, multicultural and recreational atmosphere that will be sure to provide a stimulating and unforgettable experience.
